You would be shocked how stubborn people are when it comes to home selling.
I see it all the time in my line of work.
As a realtor, I go into someone’s house to begin the listing process ASAP. The homeowner meets me at the door with a poopy attitude & a long list of demands. The demands are generally aimed around not wanting to put currency into the lake house to legitimately bring a better price. I used to argue, but it isn’t worth it for me anymore. Let someone else spend too much of their precious time attempting to do the impossible. My current supplier is based in an area where the heat is a big element in our daily lives. Really good Heating, Ventilation, & A/C is totally essential around here. I explain to these pissy homeowners that the first thing any potential customer will try to check is the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C. No one wants a 20 year outdated heating & cooling system. Most just check out right there when they see the dollar signs adding up. I don’t care how much staging, painting & cleaning is done, separate from installing excellent appliances the customer will be turned off. I say my piece of the story & if they want to go with the “as is” strategy well, that’s on them and their family. They can find another realtor because my firm will not ever be interested in a protracted lake house sale due to ignorance.
